Propelled by convulsive and sometimes violent rhythms, the primal scream of horns, and a moaning guitar, we are washed with a deluge of unbridled catharsis. There are moments of respite, pauses for hypnotic reflection and sinuous improvisation. There are even spaces for light and joy. But in the cyclical nature of passion, we return again and again to exotic release.
